Minecraft Mod Provides us Underground Rivers with This Datapack

A Minecraft mod is giving underground caves the rivers they deserve by releasing a new datapack. The Minecraft underground has been the focus of plenty of updates in the past few years. The sandbox game has seen a number of major changes to the areas below the surface however none nor even the most recent update, has added functional underground rivers yet.

If there's one thing you can count on is the willingness of the Minecraft community members to take matters into their hands. It's one of the reasons Minecraft mods can range from something as complex as Breath of the Wild capabilities to things as simple as increasing the distance you can see. So naturally there's someone who took the initiative to create a beautiful datapack to add in underground rivers.

Apollowomc posted an Reddit post that showed a boat that goes underground on the river. Although there is sometimes some dust in these datapacks, the results are stunning, with vines hanging from ceilings and lily pads scattered over the surface, and even the wildlife swimming under the boat. It's a stunning datapack, and is still being developed.

You can download the data pack on PlanetMinecraft.com However, keep in mind that it's a demo of technology as it stands. That means it's not going to integrate with other world generation packs at least not for the moment, and there will likely be some updates here and there for it going forward. If you are planning to make rivers go underground it's the perfect time to create a whole new universe and sail around.
